A grant to Brown will fund new study of slavery and dispossession of Native American land

PROVIDENCE – A $4.9-million grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation will enable Brown University’s Center for the Study of Slavery and Justice to study historical injustices and the relationship between colonization of America by Europeans and racial slavery and European taking of Native American lands in New England.
